Her blow dryer stopped, her natural waves appeared, and the haircare aisle turned out to have almost nothing for them. She left a McKinsey career to formulate for Indian hair, Indian water and Indian weather.
An IIT, Stanford and Harvard graduate left McKinsey to fix how India moves freight, and to treat the people driving the trucks as people. Rivigo became a billion-dollar company. She left in 2018, and is now building a design-first home-appliances brand called Nuuk.
A Wharton graduate stepped away for three and a half years to raise her children, then found the door back into work quietly shut. In 2015 she built JobsForHer, now HerKey. It reaches millions of women, it turns a profit, and its founder has picked a new fight: keeping AI from locking women out all over again.
She left a marketing career at Procter & Gamble, tracked down an ex-DRDO material scientist, and rebuilt the Indian mattress from the inside out. FY25 revenue was 499 crore rupees, and a 2025 round valued the company at 2,745 crore.
A retina surgeon in Bengaluru had no treatment to offer patients losing their central vision. The cell therapy she co-founded a company to build has now improved sight by an average of 15.8 letters in its first trial.
She was running a federation of 106 women’s cooperatives when she decided the larger lever was what happens to a child before the age of six. Rocket Learning now works through 400,000 government anganwadi educators across 16 states.
